21, November 2014: Creativity and 'out of the ordinary' go hand in hand when it comes to designing bespoke engagement rings and Mia Chicco exudes both in abundance.
The latest addition to the F&L Designer Guide community, Mia is distinctly different, designing with unique qualities that struck the heart of the F&L Designer Guides team. Her vivid imagination exhibits empathy for artistic styles such as Fauvism and Suprematism, which she interprets using exquisite colours and textures.
It is no secret that L, of F&L, has a passion for all things Italian and it was Mia Chicco’s Florentine training that drew her attention. In Florence Mia was fortunate to have that long established and revered tradition of artisan jewellery making revealed to her, and consequently her designs thrive on intricate skills, fine hand engraving and incredible stone settings. Her Etruscan inspired shapes were further embellished, and from a more modern perspective, when she undertook her apprenticeship in Sydney.
As a self-confessed story lover and a secret romantic, L was captivated when Mia Chicco told her the tale of an Australian couple that wanted her to commission their engagement ring. Every year, the couple visited Positano in Italy and stayed in a castle, perched high on a hill. Taking the main characteristics behind this idea, Mia created a ring that encompassed an Art Deco style interpreted by using a cushion cut diamond, raised to represent the grandeur of the castle, surrounded by blue sapphires set slightly lower to represent the stunning Mediterranean sea below. (Another example of her inspirational commissions can be seen here).
Imagine having your ring designed by Mia Chicco? Tell her your story and let her design a ring that tells it every day. Her attention to finishing techniques, from miligrain to those of a more experimental nature, will have your engagement ring standing out from the crowd from every perspective. Mia Chicco’s engagement ring designs clearly demonstrate her experience in her craft and her love of pushing the idea of unique and individual; she epitomises all that F&L stand for.
