Light & Land Launches Namibia Tour Set for May/June

19, February 2015: Namibia will be the focus of a new tour recently announced by Light & Land, a Namibia photography tour, holiday, and workshop provider. Built on tours of the African country since 1998, it has been extended by two days and will include destinations such as Swakapmund, the dunes of the Skeleton Coast.

The tour will then lead to Sossusvlei’s scenic 1,000 foot sand dunes, the Namib Desert, and the Wolvedans Desert Lodge. Opportunities will be there to photograph plants and wildlife along the way, including zebra, oryx, ostrch, cheetahs, and giraffes. The town of Luderitz is also on the path. This diamond mining area requires special permission to enter, affording photography opportunities of Kolmanskop and Elizabeth Bay – two deserted mining towns.

Here, travelers will get to see the remnants of old mansions, now filled with sand. Rusty mining machines dot the landscape, among haunting reminders of this desert’s mining past. The tour will then return to Windhoek prior to the flight home the next day. Participants will have had the opportunity to see and photograph a vast and diverse pristine landscape.

Single accommodations, breakfasts, ground transport, tour tuition, critique sessions, and entry fees and permits are covered in the cost of the 11-day Namibia tour. The total estimated cost for the tour is £4,495.

The tour will be led by notable and award-winning photography tutors Antony Spencer and Justin Reznick. Learn more about the tour and the photographers, and book a spot, by going to http://www.lightandland.co.uk/photography-tours/view/namibia
