How Does Apple Pay Work?

03, June 2015: Apple Pay allows users to store and manage their credit cards via iOS application “Passbook”. User is able to easily add cards using their camera phone or iTunes.

Instead of swiping your credit card the way you normally would, you can now use your iPhone for payment at a POS terminal. Apple Pay utilizes the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology when interfacing with the POS payment terminal. This does not require the use of internet connection for payment processing.

Making a payment with Apple Pay is easy with just a wave of the iPhone. All you have to do is wave your authenticated iPhone near the POS terminal. To authenticate your transaction, fingerprint verification will appear. As your fingerprint is verified, the transaction is recorded on both the merchant’s POS and the client’s credit card.

Apple Pay will change how you pay with breakthrough contactless payment technology and unique security features built right into the devices you have with you every day. So you can use your iPhone, Apple Watch, or iPad to pay in a simple, secure, and private way.

With nation-wide implementation of the EMV regulation in October 2015, the burden of fraudulent credit card transactions will shift to the merchants. Apple Pay, in this scenario, will protect your business interests against potential risks because only EMV-recognized credit cards from your customer’s Passbook will be accepted.

Many of our payment solutions incorporate NFC technology enabling our merchants to accept Apple Pay. In addition, these solutions also offer EMV payment capability.
